A WORKING NOTE:

Sometimes an image/idea takes time to develop from an apparently singular beginning into a more extended sequence of works.
Looking back, after making several "Erupture" paintings, it seems to me very likely that the painting below, made earlier in 2015, was the slow maturing seed for the paintings above, made on the "Erupture" theme.
